..... 24. Other Cheek (leeward) and Half Fast (windward) are sailing a parallel course upwind. The boats are bow to bow and about a boatlength and a half apart as shown at position 1 above when Half Fast bears away to speed up and take Other Cheek’s wind. Other Cheek tells Half Fast not to sail below proper course since the two boats are less than two lengths apart. Half Fast laughs and says there is no proper course upwind.
