Worlds Experience:

Sailing History: Paddy Halton and I are really looking forward to going. Paddy would prefer a Mark 1 whereas I would prefer a Mark 4, but our priority is to be in a Wayfarer in your event!!! I sailed a Mark 2 for 13 years, a plus S for 17 years before getting a Mark 4 two years ago. So rest assured we both have lots of experience and will take very good care of whatever boat we have.

I have an abiding memory of Uncle Al coming to Baltimore, Co. Cork, in Ireland in 1994 and borrowing an old boat and leading the fleet. For this reason (and a few more reasons) I don’t expect to win in Canada, but we do hope to join in the fun and have a good time. I look forward to meeting you all in August.

Sailing History: Paddy has been sailing Wayferers on and off for 35 years or so. A former owner of two MKII's, he has competed in local competition and one national event where he placed half-way up or down the fleet depending on your perspective.

Paddy is not a total stranger to Lake Ontario having sailed with his friend Don Lawrence on the lake in Don's Folkboat for a few summers in the early 90's out of Toronto Island.  Paddy has also crewed on cruisers racing on Lake Simcoe, sailed the Bay of Fundy, visited Grand Manan in the company of a few very large humpbacks and landed on the (in)famous Fastnet Rock for a visit.  He is looking forward very much to renewing his acquantance with Lake Ontario.
