Our sail on the Atalanta: We left the Heegerwal (above) and motored in a stately fashion into a light SW wind to the area marked Fluessen in the chart below. There we did a 180° turn and the waisters were called upon to hoist up the John B's sails and see how the mainsail set, which it did quite nicely. In striking quiet, we sailed back to the cramped surroundings of the Heegerwal where the captain dazzled us all with a U-turn in an area that was barely wider than the length of the Atalanta. And the captain's old salt image was only slightly tarnished when a child's voice from shore called him Opa.
